What's the difference between Hemlock wood and Red Cedar Wood?
Hemlock and Red Cedar lumber are both popular choices when constructing infrared saunas. The differences come in when you're looking at what kind of features you want your infrared sauna to boast. Hemlock is the most popular and economical choice. It's a trusted, durable wood with a light brown color that goes great in any room. Red Cedar, initially, is the same color as Hemlock, but with a red hue that slowly gets darker with age. Red Cedar is also naturally less vulnerable to insect infestations, moisture damage and fungi growth. In addition, Red Cedar emits a distinct, wonderful aroma that most sauna users enjoy during an infrared session.
